I didn't really have any expectations about Spanish food before our trip, so I was pleasantly surprised that our dinners in Barcelona were one of the highlights of the trip. The first night in Barcelona we had tapas (basically appetizers). We had chicken, salad, calamari, beef, and a few other things. Everything was delicious! Our second night Amy and I had two different varieties of seafood paella (a rice-based dish) and my parents had sea bass. Our final night we ate outside at a really nice restaurant by the marina. Amy and I had sea bass while my Dad had paella (my mom had salmon). We also enjoyed very good sangria twice. Once night was a typical red wine based sangria and the other night we had a strawberry sangria. We had no idea we were ordering a strawberry sangria, but we were pleasantly surprised when it arrived.
Dinner time in Barcelona was a little bit of a challenge with Will. Most restaurants close up in the late afternoon and don't reopen until 7:30 or 8:00. We didn't want to miss out on some great food, so we made it work. Twice Will feel asleep in his stroller on the way to dinner and slept for some of the time once we arrived. We took bottles with us to feed him and then he would often fall back asleep in my mom's lap. Thankfully he never screamed through a dinner and we got to enjoy three nice dinners out. Of course we took pictures, so enjoy!

| A game of peek-a-boo to entertain Will. He was quite the charmer at this restaurant. Several waitresses came over to talk to him repeatedly. |

| Dad with his seafood paella on the last night. The waiter brought this out to our table first and told us in his limited English he wanted us to take a picture. Then without explanation he took the food away, brought our other three dinners out, and finally returned with my dad's food on a regular plate! |
