Hilton Head Vacation 2012

All three of us spent the first week of August in Hilton Head, South Carolina with John's family.  This was our first Pollom family vacation with kids and  I think Will and his cousin Claire both had a great first trip to Hilton Head.  We were also able to celebrate the fact that John's dad (Pops) is done with chemotherapy! 

Here are some highlights from our trip:

• Our house had its own pool which, of course, was a huge highlight for Will.  He loved jumping in, running around the pool area, and playing with all his family members in the pool.
• I took Will down to the beach three times.  Will had fun running around on the beach, sitting in holes, and playing in the tidal pools for 30-40 minutes. He walked out in the ocean all by himself and didn't stop until the water hit the middle of his chest.  
• We went out to lunch most days.  We ate at the Salty Dog twice and the Crazy Crab once.  Will also went to a burger place on Friday while I took John to the airport (he was heading to Chicago for Bachelor party).  Will proved that it is possible to fall asleep on the back of a bike on the way home from lunch one day!
• Sea Pines in Hilton Head has some great playgrounds.  Will especially enjoyed the Harbor Town playground that Nana and Pops took him to one morning.  He also liked the smaller playground at South Beach Marina especially if other kids were around. 
• Will really likes to play with Claire's baby toys so he was quite happy to have those around for the week.
• Overall it was a great week of fun and family time!  Enjoy a few pictures of our week!
