This weekend we decided to make the trip up to Cincinnati to visit the zoo. These days Will usually only falls asleep in car if it is nap time, we tried to plan our visit for before his afternoon nap so he could sleep in the car on the way home and wouldn't be too tired at the zoo. After parking, getting out the stroller, etc, we were in the zoo by about 10:30. We saw elephants and a giraffe first. The elephants were being much more interesting than the giraffe. Then we headed in to see lorikeets and other tropical birds. Will was just getting comfortable around all the birds when a duck of some type decided to see if his arm was food, so we made a quick exit after that. We also saw orangutans, gibbons, multiple types of monkeys, gorillas, a black bear, a spectacled bear, polar bears, a rhino, lions, manatees, and fish. Will favorites were probably the swimming polar bear, the manatees, and all the fish. I think he liked how he could stand right next to the fish tanks and really see the fish and the manatees swimming. Apparently we need to plan a trip to the aquarium soon. He also LOVED the goats in the petting zoo. He probably would have been happy to play with the goats all morning. We had lunch at the zoo before getting in the car to head home. Will fell asleep by the time we crossed the Ohio River and slept for most of the way home.
Here are a few pictures of our trip.
