Trick or Treating was postponed until today due to bad weather. The weather could not have been more perfect tonight. Most of our neighbors opted to sit outside to pass out candy to enjoy the beautiful fall weather.
Trick or Treating started at 6pm. A little after 5pm we headed to a tailgate one of our neighbors hosted. We got to meet more of our new neighbors so that was a really nice! Will was especially impressed with the smoke machine the tailgate hosts had going on their porch. He also managed to snag multiple desserts in the hour we were there.
Then about six we loaded Charlie into the wagon and started Trick or Treating. Will was very excited to go up to houses and get candy. He especially wanted suckers. We had practiced saying "Trick or Treat" and "Thank you," but most houses he said "please" when I asked him what he should say. He would usually say "Happy Halloween" when prompted. Then, of course, he wanted to start eating candy as we continued Trick or Treating.
Charlie was very happy in the wagon until about 7pm when he started to get really tired. John and Charlie headed home while Will and I kept going for about 30 more minutes. Then he hit a wall, laid down on the grass to eat his sucker, and he wanted "to hold with mom" (I carry him) all the way home. Definitely a fun night!
