Will Goes to the Children's Museum

While Charlie slept throughout the Children's Museum, Will was able to enjoy many of the exhibits.  We started in the Hot Wheels exhibit which had lots of different tracks for racing hot wheel cars.  Will thought this was pretty neat for a little bit until something (maybe having to share the tracks?) really upset him.  I then distracted him by heading to Mr. Bear's Playhouse, an area for 5 and under.  This area is just a temporary exhibit while they redesign their huge Playscape area.  I was not overly impressed with this area, although Will liked the sand table.

Next we headed to ScienceWorks, which was a very neat exhibit (and where Charlie "played" with legos and looked at trucks).  Will especially liked the water table.
Oops!  Sorry about your head Aunt Amy!

Will wanted to climb into the water.

Next we headed to the exhibits around the Carousel.  This was probably Will's favorite part of the entire museum.  He rode the carousel twice and both times had to be carried off crying because he wanted to ride more.  Near the carousel were a number of play houses.  His favorite was tree house, complete with a ladder into the club house.  This area also had a neat room of mirrors.

Then we checked out the train exhibit.  Will loves to watch model trains go around and around.  They also have a real train engine that used to pull cars up the steep hill from Madison, Indiana.  Behind the engine were two old railway cars.  In one of the cars they had video going in the windows to make it seem like the train car was moving.  This was very confusing to Will:

The last exhibit we visited was the dinosphere.  This area has been added since I was a kid and I thought it was awesome.  They have many large dinosaur skeletons under a big dome which is lit up to look like the sky.  The exhibit also has sounds though out.  After you walk through the dome area there are numerous hands on activities.  Will enjoyed the dinosaur nest and putting the dinosaur skeleton together.

What a fun place!  Can't wait to go back!
