The highlight of the trip was our day trip to Indianapolis on Wednesday. My Dad and my sister had the day off of work,so the five of us headed to the Zoo. Since I went to the Indianapolis Zoo a lot as a kid, it was really fun to take Will there. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and we saw lots of animals. We saw giraffes, elephants (including a really cute baby elephant who was born in July), lions, a tiger, a bear, gibbons, a walrus, sea lions, rhinos, sharks, and much more. We also went to the dolphin show. Will really liked the two gibbons because they were making lots of noise and swinging from limb to limb. Large animals that were moving around like the tiger, the walrus, a rhino, and the giraffes also got his attention. Other highlights at the Zoo included two service dogs-in-training we saw in the bathroom, a duck that waddled under his highchair during lunch, a toddler who could roar like a lion, and all the cool wooden fences and decks around the exhibits.
After the zoo we headed to my sister's apartment for a bit, before heading out to a delicious dinner. At the restaurant we ran into my high school friend Jillian. It was great to catch up with her briefly. During our dinner Will was especially impressed with the waiter's ability to pour water and wine. He also tried to add to ambiance by banging his sippy cup and his snack container on the table.
Enjoy some pictures and videos from our day in Indianapolis.
